I will start by saying that I have no affiliation with Nike Training Club (NTC). My endorsement of this amazing resource is coming strictly from my experience using it for FREE for ten years! And somehow it just keeps getting better.
So, what is the Nike Training Club? NTC is an application that I use on my phone. It helps me in my efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Beyond exercise, it also has features that address stress management, sleep, nutrition, mobility and many others topics. So, if I’m not being paid to promote this app, why am I recommending it? Because it’s awesome.
Here are the reasons you should check it out too.
Safety first: I am very critical when I attend classes because safety should be the first concern of anyone who is leading an exercise session. I have yet to come across any NTC instructor who is presenting something in an unsafe way. As a matter of fact, instructors and coaches provide modifications so you can make the workout your own. It’s easy to adjust things up or down with their coaching. Biographies are available so you can learn more about their expertise.
Customize: Everything on the app is on-demand. You can use it anywhere, anytime. One of my favorite features of this app is that you can easily filter the large warehouse of workouts they have created. You can search by:
- Length: You can choose the length of your workout depending how much time you have.
- Level: There are options for beginners, intermediate and advanced. As I mentioned, they provide options to modify your workout at every level.
- Format: You can decide on your preferences. You can choose to exercise with an instructor who is talking you through the workout or via a whiteboard where you follow pre-recorded video segments of each exercise. (This allows you to play your own music while you workout if you prefer that.)
- Workout type: Depending on what you want to focus on, you can choose from strength, mobility, endurance, or yoga based workouts.
- Muscle group focus: This allows you to decide what body parts you want to focus on. There are choices of abs and core, arms and shoulders or glutes and legs. Take your pick.
- Equipment available: There are workouts that do not require any equipment so anyone can get started. There are also options for basic equipment and for those who have home gym equipment.
The most recent expansion to the application is their lifestyle coaching. They have added experts to cover topics like sleep, stress management, nutrition, meditation, and even recovery. For anyone who likes podcasts, but is limited on time, these are really great resources that you can listen to while you’re exercising too.
Options I have not explored yet: Beyond single workouts, Nike Training Club has programs available too. These involve a series of workouts you follow over a period of time like five weeks or eight weeks. This provides structure and the ability to track progress over a longer period of time. There is also the option to earn incentives and connect socially with other NTC members. These features may come with a cost associated. However, anything I have used has been completely FREE!
I use this app regularly and highly recommend you check this out.
