If you haven’t noticed yet, Lee and I really like to be OUTSIDE! There are many health benefits of taking your activity outside. Not only does it improve mood, it can also help with stress management, increases socialization, and even help us heal faster (1). Beyond that, research has shown that kids who spend more time outside also tend to get more exercise (1). No surprise there.
Before you head outside, make sure to take some basic safety precautions:
- Hydrate before and during your workout.
- Try not to exercise in extreme heat. Mornings or evenings might be better.
- Wear sunblock!
- Stay in a visible area and take a cell phone with you.
I made this family-friendly workout that you can do by yourself, with friends or with family. So, visit your local park or track and try this circuit! Great for all levels of fitness. You can print out a copy of Perfect Park Workout here.
