Get Fit and Help Others: Run 10 Feed 10

Right now, 50 million Americans are going hungry—they don’t know when they will get their next meal. The reality is there IS enough food in the world today for everyone to get the nourishment they need for a healthy and productive life.  It’s something we can do something about. Together, we can make a huge impact in a very simple way. All you have to do is RUN!  Women’s Health hosts Run 10 Feed 10 events nationwide to help address hunger.  Whether you live in these cities or not, you can still get involved by running a race in your own backyard (literally).

If you have never run before, you can still help.  Many of you who are my regular readers and colleagues are avid runners.  This is a great chance for you to add even more meaning to your passion for running by raising funds to help feed those who are in need!

The money from your registration and fundraising efforts will go to those metropolitan areas nearest to you.  Registration and details for Run 10 Feed 10 instructions can be found here.  Participants that join my team for RUN 10 FEED 10 on Crowdrise.com will each be asked to fundraise a minimum of $100 for RUN 10 FEED 10 by October 27, National Make A Difference Day. Your fundraising efforts will benefit the FEED Foundation.

Running a 10K doesn’t happen over night.  Plan your spring and summer around getting fit and helping others.

Here are some great resources for new and experienced runners as well as a timeline for getting involved!
